It was a split decision for the Honkers this past weekend- on Saturday evening, Grantsburg scored 3 runs in the bottom of the 9th to upend the Spooner Cardinals 6-5. A few hours later, Grantsburg scored 3 in the 9th again...but it wasn't enough as the Haugen Hornets defeated the Honkers 12-8. The split moves Grantsburg to 5-3 in the Independent League.
Next weekend it's two games up by Hayward- a Friday nighter in Hayward against the Hawks at 8:30pm, then a Saturday afternoon game in Seeley at 1:00. The July 4th weekend is an off weekend, and then it's 5 home games out of 6 during the month of July. Bring your grills!
